Prayer

God invites us into a relationship with Him that is both personal and communal. He speaks to us through His Son, Jesus Christ, the Word-made-flesh. Prayer is our response to God who is already speaking or, better yet, revealing Himself to us. Therefore, prayer is not merely an exchange of words, but it engages the whole person in a relationship with God the Father, through the Son, and in the Holy Spirit. The St. Francis Parish offers the following:

Lent

As Christian believers, we begin our annual observance of Lent on February 22nd. Using the Lord Jesus’ forty days in the desert as a template, the penitential season is a time to prepare for the solemn celebration of the Paschal Mystery: the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Church recommends three great spiritual practices for Lent: prayer, fasting and almsgiving. At St. Francis Parish, we offer the following for Lenten prayer: Mass, Stations of the Cross, Recitation of the Rosary and Liturgy of the Hours - Morning Prayer. "40 Cans For Lent" is ideal for almsgiving.
